Billions of people use Google every day to find new businesses, answers to questions, or helpful solutions to their problems—and Google Ads is a valuable part of that exchange for searchers and businesses alike.

Unfortunately, some bad actors have tried to take advantage of this mutual trust by attempting to fraudulently advertise as their competitors or pose as other businesses online. These scammers take advantage of your potential customers and can erode the trust of your brand.

Google announced that it would begin to require its advertisers to verify their identities to continue using Google Ads. Please provide ONE of the following items so that we may upload it to Google and complete the advertiser verification.

  • A letter or notice issued or stamped by the IRS, such as CP 575 that confirms your Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • A copy of the organization’s Form 8871, 8872, or 990 from the IRS website
  • A state-issued certificate of business registration or incorporation

In order for us to work on your behalf with your current web management company we need you to formally introduce us as your new digital services provider. This helps us with a smooth transition.

We have included an easy template to help guide you in your communication to them. See below. Simply copy/paste this into an email and change the bracketed items. Please CC Chris Lottma ([email protected]) to your email communication.

Subject: Transfer of Digital Assets and Cancellation of Services

Hey [Current Web Designer's Name],

Hope you're doing well! First off, I just want to say a huge thank you for all the work you’ve done for [Client's Business Name]. Your support has been amazing, and I really appreciate all the effort you’ve put in.

That said, I've decided to take things in a different direction with our digital presence. We're moving our web design and digital services over to Whistler Billboards and Media, working specifically with Chris Lottman.

Could you please help us out by transferring all digital assets related to [Client's Business Name] over to Chris at Whistler Billboards and Media? This includes things like:

  • Login credentials and access to all relevant platforms
  • Any other digital assets or documentation that might be important for our website and digital presence

Chris or someone from his team will be in touch soon to make this transition as smooth as possible and to grab any specific details they need from you.

Once everything is transferred, I’d also like to officially end our contract. Please send over any final invoices or paperwork needed to wrap things up.

Thanks again for everything you’ve done, and I hope this transition goes smoothly for all of us!

Best,
[Your Name]

Google Business Access

Add owners & managers

  1. Go to your Business Profile. Learn how to find your profile.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Business Profile settings and then People and access.
  3. At the top left, click Add Invite new users.
  4. Enter [email protected]
  5. Under "Access," choose Owner or Manager.
  6. Click Invite.

Google Analytics Access

Add users to Analytics

You can add as many users as you need. To add a new user to an account or property:

  1. Visit google.com/analytics and sign in with your admin Gmail account.
  2. In Admin, under Account or Property (depending on where you want to add users), click Access Management.
  3. In the Account/Properties permissions list, click +, then click Add users.
  4. Enter [email protected]
  5. Select Notify new users by email to send a message to the user.
  6. Select the permissions you want. Learn more about permissions.
  7. Click Add.

The Google email address you use to add a user and the password associated with that address become the Analytics login credentials for that user.

Facebook / Meta Access

To give someone permission to access a Page in a Business Account that owns the page, you can approve their partner request within the owning Business Account. To transfer ownership of your Page to someone, you can approve their ownership request if you have full control of the Business Account. This scenario applies when you're trying to claim a Page that’s not owned by your Business Account. If a Page is not owned by a Business Account, you can accept the partner request on the Page by going to Settings and then Roles.

Before you begin

  • If you have Facebook access with full control of the Page, you can approve the request. These steps only apply to the person who has Facebook access through Business Manager.
  • If you don't have Facebook access with full control, send this article to the person with Facebook access in the owning Business Manager to get your request approved.
    • If you have made a partner or ownership request, you must know who has permissions to accept the request. Due to privacy concerns, we cannot provide more information about who can accept your request.

Understanding Page and Business Account access

  • Person with full control of a partner Business Account: The person with full control of the partner Business Account can request access to an outside Page. That request needs to be approved by either:
    • Facebook access with full control of the Page: Someone who has Facebook access with full control if there is not an owning Business Account
    • Person with full control of the Business Account: Person with full control of the Business Account that owns the Page and other business assets

Note: Meta Business Accounts, sometimes known as Business Manager accounts, are now called business portfolios. This change will appear gradually across Meta technologies.

How to approve an ownership or partner request from Pages

If you are a Page owner, you can approve ownership or partner requests for your Page. The steps below only apply if you are a Page owner. To approve ownership or partner request from Pages:

  1. Open your Page.
  2. From the left menu, select Page settings.
  3. Select Page roles.
  4. You will find the request under Partner Request or Ownership Requests. Select Respond to request.
  5. Select Give [Business Manager Name] access to my Page if it’s a Partner Request, or select Transfer ownership of my Page if it’s an Ownership Request.

If you have full control of the Business Account, you can also approve partner requests in this way:

  1. Log into your Business Manager
  2. Go to Business settings from your left sidebar. Then, click Requests.
  3. Click on the Received tab. You should see businesses that have requested access to your Page here. You should also see information about the user who has requested access and the business they belong to.
  4. Click Approve or Decline.

You have now either approved a partner request to give someone permission to access the Page or an ownership request to transfer ownership of the Page.

If you don't know which Business Account owns the Page, you may need to dispute the ownership and apply for the Page to be detached.
